about

Jamie Williams and the Roots Collective
announce the release of their new album ‘Move The Planet.’
on 8th April.
This multi-influenced, powerful album is their seventh album to date. The release gig is at iconic music venue Hot Box in Chelmsford.
Move The Planet will be available on vinyl, CD, cassette and across all major download and streaming sites.
Move The Planet was recorded at ‘The Sink’ and ‘The Loft’, Essex, UK and produced, mixed and mastered by David J Milligan

With their previous album ‘Do What You Love’ coming out during Lockdown in May 2022 and not being able to tour it, the lack of gigging was tortuous for the band: Gigging is something they need to do, it’s a compulsion & without this outlet for their creative flow they were lost......
As soon as they were allowed to get into their studio together (but in separate booths) they decided to use this enforced inactivity to craft this new album ‘Move The Planet’ . Unlike many 'lockdown' albums the band recorded the main rhythm tracks for these songs 'as live', together,
which really shows in the exuberant feel of the recordings. It's the sound of a reunited band letting off steam.
There are songs about love, loss, drinking, a tribute to an old band mate & even some folky political commentary in tune with our current times. As always they are not frightened to try out new styles in keeping with the content of the song, so there are some folkier songs, a dip into
surf, some really catchy earworms, all with the distinct stamp of Jamie Williams and the Roots Collective.

The band came together to craft the arrangements, Dave worked his customary production
magic and they are all proud of
the resultant album

Move The Planet!
